Christmas

Most people will have magical Christmases, right? Well our Christmas won't be magical, just as it hasn't been for many years. We'll sit in the living room, a person short, just before sunrise and open gifts we all know we're getting. We'll plaster on our best sleepy fake smiles and say 'thank you' when it's over. We'll make breakfast and listen to the newest CD unwrapped, all the while waiting for the happiness to kick in. It won't. This year won't be full of 'holiday cheer', it'll be full of imitation and misleading actions. The only magical thing will be how we can look like we have it all together, when it's all going wrong.
