I love that line. No matter how depressing it may be, I love it.
Hearing it makes me realize how many people say the sun will come out tomorrow, though how can you be sure? In reality, storms can last for days on end. Sometimes, they don't end for years.
I feel as though my storm won't end some days, but I don't forget about my sunshine. My sunshine is everything to me and I need Him every moment of the day, even though people don't acknowledge it. He is my everything. Everything I'll ever need. He'll never leave me. He's the one person I can't fight, the one that I never want to push away. Never again... I'll forever need him. (: Someday, I'll see my sunshine.
I think I'll begin doing a verse of the day. Maybe by setting a goal to pick a brilliant verse, I'll remember to read every day. I sure hope so...
Today's verses:
Luke 6:27-36
[27] "But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, [28] bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. [29] If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. [30] Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. [31] Do to others as you would have them do to you.
[32] "If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them. [33] And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that. [34] And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners,' expecting to be repaid in full. [35] But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. [36] Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
My thoughts of the verse?
Be good to everyone, even those who hate you. Do not take things from the ungrateful, for we are all unworthy of the gift Jesus has offered us. How would you feel if someone took away the gift of living forever with God?
If you only love those who love you back, what good does that do? If you only do good to those who are good to you, where does it get you? It makes you no better than the sinner. Love and treat all well and you will be rewarded with enternal happiness. And finally: forgive others just as God forgives you.
